Location: Barnsley
Salary: £18,630 (pro rata) per annum

Key Worker - Extra Care - 18.5hrs, Temporary 9 Month Contract at Whinn Dale

We’re currently recruiting for a key worker at Whinn Dale in Normanton, Wakefield, Barnsley. We’re looking for somebody who loves working with older people. You will be part of an experienced and enthusiastic team; supporting individuals over the age of 55 to live independently, empowering them to explore the opportunities that living in our schemes can bring and working towards reducing loneliness and isolation in our communities.

Are you someone who;

  • Has a positive, can do attitude and can bring this out in others
  • Has knowledge and experience of supporting people to manage their tenancy
  • Understands the features of active ageing and can inspire people to be active in their community within their individual levels of ability
  • Understands the principles of personalisation and believes in tailoring the service they provide to the individual, not the individual to the service
  • Can motivate people to make new friends and connections
  • Has a positive attitude to promoting the opportunity to gain new skills and experiences
  • Ability to work as a part of a team
  • Has experience of providing support to others, either paid or unpaid
  • Wants to make a difference
  • Is able to work flexible days between Monday to Friday

In this role you will;

  • Support customers to manage their tenancy
  • Support customers to manage their health and wellbeing
  • Work with other professionals to support customers
  • Work as part of the team in monitoring and evaluating the quality of service we provide

Starting Salary: Starting salary of £18,630 per annum (pro rata), plus generous holidays entitlement and benefits

Working Hours: 18.5 hours per week. 9 month temporary Contract. Must be available to work flexibly Monday – Friday and have flexibility to increase their contracted hours to cover annual leave.
