Our Bank Staff are an essential part of the work we do. They enable us to cover absences and vacant positions, as well as bring their expertise to specific short term projects.
Being part of our bank of temporary staff gives you a flexible way of working that can fit around your personal circumstances. Lots of our existing staff use the bank as a way to fit in work around family or other commitments, or even just to earn some extra money.
And best of all, as a Bank Staff worker you do as many or as few shifts as you like.
It’s also a great way to gain invaluable experience in working in our services. So if a full time role or vacancy comes up, you’re perfectly placed to apply for it.
I would highly recommend being a Bank Staff worker, following my recent experience working as a Key Worker at Lister Project, a Wellbeing Facilitator at Take Notice and most recently Project Lead at Askern Court.
I was interested in casual work because it fits well with my family life and self-employed work commitments. I found the experience of joining the casual team, including the induction and administration processes, to be well explained and very thorough. The work at all the projects has been a joy. The staff at all the projects have been welcoming, professional and I felt really well supported at all times.

The best thing about being a Bank Staff worker is the flexibility of your role – you can work as much or as little as you need to.
We’ll provide you with all the skills you need to support our customers, including an induction which will help you to learn more about our values as an organisation.
As part of your role we’ll support you with training and regular contact to enable you to further your career with South Yorkshire Housing Association.
Being positive, flexible and caring are just a few of the traits we’re looking for. So, if you feel you have the skillset and the passion to make a difference, please get in touch!

Some of our services run 24 hours a day, so we’ve always got a need for staff – especially those who can work flexibly.
Bank Staff enable us to run our schemes effectively and are a vital part of our team.
You’ll learn first-hand how different mental health issues affect a variety of individuals and how this impacts on their daily lives.
In return you’ll be working in a rewarding and enjoyable role where you’ll meet some fantastic people. You’ll gain valuable experience and skills working closely with partner organisations – skills which you can use, if you wish, to apply for other roles.
